Christopher Moravec is the Director of Products at Eagle Information Mapping. For the past four years, he has led the EIM software development team, managing all aspects of development from concept to production. While his focus on the team is on software architecture and design, Christopher thoroughly enjoys all stages of development. His technical skills include Python, Server Architecture, Server Design, Server Planning, GIS Applications, Work Process Engineering, T-SQL, PL/SQL, C#, Mobile Development, Objective-C. He takes great pride in not only leading his team, but being part of the team by programming and creating unit tests side by side with his team members. Christopher’s innovative thought process around GIS and the life cycle of data has led to whatEIM now calls the Three Houses of Data or 3HD for short. Christopher’s concepts and professional development standards have taken Eagle’s tools from simple ArcMap Toolbars to a fully integrated system that tracks and manages pipeline assets and keeps key stakeholders up to date by keeping data in sync with the field and reports current. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2008, Christopher started his career at Eagle Information Mapping as a Software Developer. For two years, he developed several Python, T-SQL and PL/SQL tools that became commercial products and laid the groundwork for 3HD. Christopher is also currently the Chair of the PODS Data Modeling team and has played a key role in the PODS 6.0 release. In his free time, Christopher enjoys researching and learning new technologies, tinkering with gadgets and working on community projects. His fascination with airplanes led to him obtaining his Private Pilot Certificate in 2014.

Led team of 4-8 developers creating and maintaining tools for Pipeline Data Management for the Oil and Gas Industry. Responsible for scheduling and prioritizing the development backlog while managing client expectations and internal resources.Worked closely with Esri (primary GIS software vendor) to determine the best path forward for our development on their changing platform. Created and implemented multi-year plan to migrate existing software to Esri’s new platform. Architected new software based upon Esri’s architecture to help us reduce time to market and provide additional value to our clients.Designed new software using the above architecture to more efficiently process large amounts of pipeline data. This new software became the framework for all future reporting, QC and analysis tools. This involved researching data algorithms and testing proof of concept tools to select the best tool and algorithm for the job.

Responsible for conception and development of a new commercial software tool to copy data from one database to another while ensuring data integrity. This tool went on to be sold to several companies with low support requirements because of the automated testing and documentation I created. This led to new development standards for the company.
