In Chris's current role, he works with emergency responders in Nebraska, Colorado, and Minnesota to facilitate and implement the latest Traffic Incident Management (TIM) best practices. He is an expert facilitator and regularly leads difficult discussions and after-action reviews of traffic incidents to help identify best practices, areas of improvement and actionable next steps for emergency responder agencies. He facilitates and builds relationships between various individuals and public safety agencies to improve coordination, communication and collaboration, increasing safety for responders and motorists. Chris is a transportation professional with nearly three decades of experience working in law enforcement and incident response. He spent the last ten years of his law enforcement career specializing in traffic enforcement, investigation, and Traffic Incident Management (TIM). Chris’s position as a Patrol Lieutenant with the Douglas County (CO) Sheriff’s Office provided him with an administrative and operations level view of incident response. His data-driven decision making in policy and procedure development for his staff helped reduce crashes and crime within his jurisdiction.Chris was involved with the Colorado I-25 GAP construction project, working with CDOT, engineers, and construction companies to plan for traffic operations and incident management throughout the eighteen-mile project. Chris’s ability to understand intricacies of traffic operations, construction, incident management, responder needs, and experience will provide system reliability and safety for users in the years ahead.Chris’s passion for Transportation Systems Management and Operation (TSMO) and TIM led him to implement a TIM training program for 100% of his patrol staff, and as a TIM Master Instructor, he has trained hundreds of public safety professionals from all disciplines, as well. Chris has investigated hundreds of traffic crashes, and his understanding of crash-causing behavior will improve safety and operations on future projects.Chris offers strong critical thinking abilities, emergency incident management skills, great leadership, and a humble, friendly personality.
