As an integral member of the assessment psychometrics team at American Institutes for Research, I serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for a highly visible state government client on large scale standardized testing programs. In my role, I conduct preequatings as well as design, construct, evaluate and revise testing forms. I perform comprehensive quality assurance simulations using computer-adaptive test engines, adjusting engine algorithms as required and I analyze test items to produce item statistics. I am relied upon to coordinate with educational experts (under the employ of clients) in determining expected performance of testers based on published standards and in applying test performance evaluation methodologies. I am also responsible for coordinating with AIR team members on the organization of and topics to be included in the detailed analytic output for test items to our state clients during data review meetings. Additionally, I work with our clients in determining validity and reliability of test items and I draft and edit research reports, technical manuals, and client communications.
