Providing manufacturing automation support and solutions for an early-stage startup

Instructor for online graduate courses in Robotics Engineering

Worked with WPI research groups and external companies to best utilize the facilities and equipment at the PracticePoint research facility for healthcare robotics. Support included reviewing prototype designs, advising on experimental setups, advising on institutional review board (IRB) protocol preparation, and assisting in data collection. In addition to my technical support, I also engaged new industry partners to work with the PracticePoint facility, developed our MRI safety program, taught courses in robotics, advised student capstone and masters projects, and managed day-to-day operations of the facility.

Explored applications of robotics, sensing, image guidance and electromechanical actuation in upper endoscopy and urologic procedures. I contributed to the design, fabrication, and programming of several prototype devices. Received and documented physician feedback from hands-on demonstrations in phantoms.

Research assistant in the Automation and Interventional Medicine (AIM) lab. My areas of focus included wearable robotic devices for the assistance of disabled and aging populations and the design of MRI-compatible robotic mechanisms.

Worked at the Rehabilitation Engineering Lab at ETH Zurich researching robotic assistance of hand function for hemiparetic stroke patients. The work focused on combining the experience and efforts of the WPI AIM Lab with those of the ETH Relab.

Interned for two summers in IBM's thermal engineering department. My responsibilities included CFD analysis of cooling components for IBM's mainframes, failure analysis of field returns, bench testing of new components, and prototyping of proposed designs.

Lead a weekly recitation for Differential Equations guiding students through example problems, answering questions about the topics, and administering and grading weekly quizzes.

Interned for two summers at fair-rite products performing lab testing of dry-press ceramic ferrites and reviewing quality control data from the production line.
