Christopher Pepper is an award-winning health educator, speaker, and writer. He edits the Substack newsletter "Teen Health Today," and is the co-author the book TALK TO YOUR BOYS, due out from Workman Publishing in 2025. Christopher has been a health educator with San Francisco Unified School District since 2002, where he has taught thousands of students about substance use, mental health, healthy relationships, and sexuality. In his current role as a Teacher on Special Assignment, he writes curriculum, leads professional development efforts, coaches new teachers, and advocates for modern, inclusive health education in schools. He helped create SFUSD’s innovative, inclusive sexuality curriculum, Be Real. Be Ready. and regularly trains teachers on how to effectively use those lessons. He also helps lead the district's Young Men’s Health Project, which brings teen boys together in small groups to discuss healthy masculinity and build positive, supportive relationships.Christopher serves on SHAPE America’s Health Education Council and on the Content Advisory Board of for TheNewDrugTalk.org, an innovative initiative to educate families about the risks of fentanyl.He works closely with the media as both a writer and an expert source, and his work has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, The New York Times, and on National Public Radio.
