The purpose of our NC Submarine Museum is to honor the men and women who served aboard the 3 US Navy nuclear-powered submarines named in honor of our state of North Carolina: USS Asheville SSN 758; USS Charlotte SSN 766; and the USS North Carolina SSN 777. The second mission of our NC Submarine Museum is to develop at STEM Education and Workforce Development Resource Center offering visitors practical applications of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) as these principles and tools help to explain how a nuclear-powered submarine operates quietly, safely and reliably in the the depths of all of the oceans covering our planet. Our confident belief is that there is nothing more technically advanced and innovative than a modern US Navy submarine. When one visits the NC Sub Museum, you’ll be encouraged to think of modern submarines as underwater spaceships in the universe of the ocean.

Began in print and graphic design in 1995, evolved with the development of the Internet capabilities . Enjoyed a range of science research and medical clients given their concentration in the Research Triangle Park.

Developed recurring project engagements with clients in Great Britain, Nordics, Spain, Turkey, Indonesia and South America. Advocate for IBM's Smarter Planet strategy. Subject matter expertise included Social, Big Data, Mobile Medicine and The Banking Client of 2017.

Began as Electronics Industry SME. Clients included Cisco, Panasonic, Sony, Siemens, ABB. Two years as a project executive for the migration of IBM's software sales force from product focus to industry alignment. 3 years as Technical Business Development Executive for IBM's Emerging Internet Technologies team. Representing 15 senior architects with dedicated off-shore lab resources, partnered with clients to validate promising, emerging technologies such mash-ups, natural language processing, unstructured text analytics, Smarter Planet and Watson/Cognitive Computing.

Regional Sales Director. Application Servers for web-enabling SAP. Start-up in Raleigh, NC. We bet on Microsoft; the market bet on Java. Clients included Prudential Insurance, Hilti Group and Ticketmaster.

Multimedia software development; customers included National Geographic, Prentice Hall and Apple Computer. CD ROM based. Unable to transition from media-based software to the promise of the Internet and the World Wide Web.

Established North American distribution network for Schunk GmbH. Founded USA Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Clients include Chrysler, BMW and Liebherr. Lived and worked in Germany for six months. Left to pursue career closer to computers and further from automotive manufacturers. Facility in Raleigh now 35,000 sqft!.

Began as first sales hire for start-up funded by Lord Corporation. Established partnership that purchased this Lord Automation Division in 1989. Key accounts included General Motors, Boeing and Mazda. Established engineering office in Kobe, Japan near our key client, Bando Chemical. Facility now employs 200 in Morrisville, NC.

Recruited to North Carolina from Maine to join newly formed digital switching division. in Raleigh. Program terminated in February 1986 after only 6 months with company!

Project Engineer for construction of commercial vessels. 18 months as part of design team for DDG 51 class of Aegis destroyers; 18 months as project manager for implementation of IBM COPICS MRP2 system. Moved from Maine to North Carolina so that wife could attend graduate school. Lucky was I.

Served on two destroyers in the Pacific. Primary role as sonar officer; collateral responsibilities as navigator (18 months) and missile security officer. Extensive travel in the Northern Pacific Ocean and the South China Sea to Philippines, Korea, China, Japan and Australia.
