* Architected and led a team of developers, scientists and IT professionals in implementing a custom Scientific Data Management System (SDMS) to meet the very specific needs of the company. * As acting director, I champion interdepartmental cooperation, by developing scientific liaisons within the Informatics department. This improved the department’s relationships with Analytical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology and Biology, resulting in new projects and opportunities that otherwise would not have been explored. * Worked closely with scientists in all departments to discover requirements for all features of the system, including processing biological data, compound registration, reagent management and structure searching to name a few. * Established software development best practices in the department, including subversion source control, ticket tracking, milestone releases, a standard testing cycle and established mechanisms for conveying progress to upper management. * Established relationships with consultants to scale Informatics resources when appropriate. This allowed us to outsource projects that didn’t create competitive advantage for the company, and concentrate of those projects that allowed Kalypsys to differentiate itself. * Applied “Web 2.0” technologies and paradigms to the drug discovery process, including a company tailored search engine, wikis, blogs, and news feeds. * Negotiated with vendors to bring third party tools in-house and provided company wide training for those tools to ensure maximum value add. * Elected President of the Employee Council intended to foster the corporate culture and maximize employee productivity and satisfaction.

* I was the first developer hired at the company and was responsible for architecting the products from scratch. * Built a team of engineers, testers, DBAs and IT professionals to accomplish the stated company goals. * Led a team of 12 software engineers, quality assurance engineers and database administrators in developing the company’s flagship products Cabrillo™ Performance Management System and the Socrates™ Learning Management System. * Worked closely with clients to determine requirements and define completion criteria for contracts.
