The Special Projects team executes non-retail capital construction projects for various internal customers across the nation+ for the full range of Kroger banners. Team members oversee and manage the real estate due diligence, capital request development process, rezoning process, conceptual planning, architectural design and engineering, permitting, and construction of complex projects with an emphasis on industrial warehouse and distribution projects. We do it all with the underlying purpose to feed America.

Responsible for entire projects from initiation to closeout with minimal oversight. Direct risk management and mitigation, execution planning, cost and schedule tracking and quality control. Negotiate parent and subcontract values, terms and conditions. Develop business through long term client relationships.

Responsible for technical direction, design development and leadership of department team for the Lexington manufacturing facility. Supported profitability through diligent lean engineering and constructability optimization.

Performed layout, design, and detailing of PCI beam bridges and reinforced concrete box culverts for KY highways. Projects included concrete frames, slabs, composite beams, soil footings, rock footings, as well as friction and end bearing pile foundations. Alignments included horizontal, vertical sag and vertical crest. Loads included HS traffic, impact, wind, soil, temperature, fluid, and buoyant.

Performed structural design of single & multi-family residences, mixed-use, hospitality and commercial buildings for both new construction and remodel/renovation. Projects included traditional wood framing, log timber framing, composite deck pan, steel frame, concrete frame, masonry, foundations, steel and concrete retaining structures. Loads included snow, wind, Zone 3 seismic, impact, and seismic induced hydro-dynamic. Responsible for budget, design, calculations, plans and construction support. Worked directly with contractors, owners and architects to provide the best possible solution in accordance with client needs and current code.
