Responsible for SIM card handling and created a SW tool that enabled the engineers to test changes without necessarily using specialised, and very expensive, equipment. Participated in a system group, dedicated to looking for system wide performance problems, an area which required wide experience of many parts of the phone SWTook charge of the communication to the phone's user interface via AT commands. This was useful in creating the above mentioned test tool.Work with the phone settings and the user interface for this. Settings affect many areas in the phone and is another area where you need overview of many parts of the SW.Participated in a complete rewrite of the user interface SW. This involved both new principles of organasing the UI and writing new code for handing incoming calls to the phone and menus created by the SIM card.The basis for the SW development has been international telecommunications standards but the development in this area has been both extensive, rapid and with ever changing requirements.

The major contracts while working as a consultant were for:Gambro (now Baxter): Development of their dialysis machines. High requirements for safety and reliability in a software run by a proprietary operating systemEB Nera, in Oslo, Norway: Development of base stations for satellite telephony to aircrafts and ships. I was responsible for the call data collection block, which formed the basis for invoicingTelia Research: Participated in development of a system for remote supervision of the telephony network

Developed software handling security related parts of the petrol station controllers, both the encryption of card data and communication with the bank's mainframe computers. This involved both a low level transport protocol I developed myself and standards like X.25. Participated in the whole chain from low level software via controller software to meeting the end customers.Was appointed group manager after a few years but found that my passion is in solving technical problems, not in managing people.

Developed software that transferred target information to an intelligent anti-aircraft shell in the moment it was fired. A lot of low level programming, as the requirements on timing were very high.
