Masters of Teaching- Integrated Social Studies

STUDENT TEACHING:Taught three periods of 11-12th grade U.S. Government classes as well as two classes of 10th grade U.S. History. Worked with cooperating teachers to provide an educational environment suited to a transition from an experienced teacher to student teacher. Organized, planned and taught lesson plans to five classes each containing anywhere between 14 and 28 students depending on the period. Three of the five courses were inclusion settings where IEP’s and 504’s were interpreted and planned for. Served as a student teacher advisor for the Future Educators of America (FEA) club. Attended FEA meetings throughout the year, providing guidance to the future education students as to the process in college as well as the student teaching experience. Consistently communicated with guardians regarding student progress and initiative as well as met with parents during parent/teacher conferences throughout the year. OBSERVATION: Observed 10th graders in U.S. History and 11th and 12th graders in U.S. Government. Exceeded time requirement spent at school by over 45 hours. Taught U.S. Government class on standard class schedule for two weeks. Created lesson plans including various forms of multimedia, differentiated instruction and discussion. Served as a student teacher advisor for the Future Educators of America (FEA) club. Attended school sponsored athletic events on a regular basis to show support and build rapport with students.

Provide close personal-protection services for dignitaries, State Department officials and other VIPs while traveling to and from locations throughout the city, including protective movements and formations. Strategically plan travel routes to safely escort principles to and from meetings across Baghdad. Serve as team leader in the absence of the Shift Leader. Experience serving as driver for the Lead, Limo and follow vehicles during motorcade operations. Conduct advance operations of venues to secure the location prior to the arrival of principals. Also provide surveillance detection of locals while on venue. Provide detailed route reconnaissance for motorcades, documenting possible enemy activity, traffic considerations and identifying choke points and other potential hazards. Trained in all aspects of Personal Security Detail operations

Deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) as a contracted explosives detection dog handler on and around Kandahar Air Field in Afghanistan. Performs ECP security and explosive detection capabilities as well as provides a level of force and visual deterrent during combat operations with various CENTCOM units in the operational theatre.

Performed installation patrol, random access security measures, installation check points, command selected health and welfare inspections. K9 team was used as a level of force for patrols and visual deterrent with the added mission of supporting the Secret Service in operations dealing directly with the President and Vice President of the United States as well as various other foreign and domestic VIP’s. Instructed subordinates in the daily upkeep and use of K9’s. Provided numerous K9 demonstrations for the local community and schools. Served as Primary Narcotics and Primary Explosives custodian. Performed daily inspections of explosive materials as well as monthly inventories.Performed Special Police operations that included training in building entry and clearing, vehicle assault, barricaded subjects, hostage situations, VIP escort and security, high dollar money escort, marksman observer operations, and counter sniper operations. Performed high threat Protective Service Details to various visiting foreign and US dignitaries working with the US Army CID and PSD teams as well as Secret Service personnel during VIP visits to South Korea. We were a full time team and trained constantly on protective formations, advanced route recon’s, protective convoy driving, close contact physical support as well as quick reactionary force actions. Trained to drive and maintain the Lenco B.E.A.R. (Ballistic Engineered Armored Response) vehicle. Served 15 months as primary entry team shield man followed by 9 months as the entry team leader. Prepared and provided weekly instruction to countless soldiers on special police tactics and techniquesPerformed duties as a patrol of government property in a squad car, on foot and at times on a bicycle. Enforced traffic laws and assisted motorists and pedestrians. Enforced the laws and regulations of the U.S. Army on Camp Casey and managed case loads that consisted of a variety of law infractions.
