I work closely with the anti-terrorism program manager to further ensure appropriate compliance across all facets. This task also includes the development, planning, and execution of a standard operating procedure (SOP) for Garrison-wide compliance aimed towards a stream-lined auditing process with a projected goal of 100% accountability of millions of dollars of government property. Corrections Officer
Responsible for the safeguarding of inmates incarcerated in a temporary holding facility. Supervised the daily activities of inmates and ensured a stable inmate climate was maintained at all times. Responsible for updating inmate’s visitation logs to ensure family members and loved ones could maintain verbal contact with the incarcerated individual. At times, inspections for contraband had to be conducted in order to maintain the safety and security for both inmates and fellow officers. Interpersonal communication skills were paramount in order to quell situations that arose between inmates in the event of possible altercations. When not working in the units, I was employed in the Booking/Intake area where arrested individuals were brought in by local city and county law enforcement officers to be processed and await a visit with the Magistrate. Being an open room, arrested individuals would often become belligerent and the S.E.R.T. (Special Emergency Response Team); of which I was a member, would need to subdue an unruly individual and place him into a one-man cell to minimize injury to himself or others. The S.E.R.T was also used to intervene within the units of the jail and served as a quick reaction force (QRF) for the entirety of the establishment in the event of an altercation within a unit where only one corrections officer was present and was requesting aid. During times when an inmate refused to exit his cell, the S.E.R.T. was called in to either calmly coerce the inmate to exit his cell or initiate a cell extraction.
