Information Technology Manager responsible for information system projects for the Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS), Division of Public Assistance (DPA), Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program. Supervises and coordinates schedules and assigns workload for three Programmer/Analysts, two Helpdesk Technicians and one Assistant. Performs a wide range of tasks associated with implementing information systems supporting statewide operations of the WIC Program. Develops and authors contractual Statement of Work(s) (SOW). Evaluates proposals, negotiates and manages services contracts and reviews / approves contractual deliverables and schedules. Provides oversight of programming modifications and system customization. Oversees testing, training, and conversion of system changes. Analyzes existing program manuals, policies and other documents and works with WIC staff to determine system revisions. Guides WIC State Office staff, 28 statewide WIC clinic grantee organizations, information technology contractors, DHSS information technology staff and managers in system design operations. Schedules and facilitates participation of 100+ state WIC agency and grantee agency staff in the system testing and training. Secures federal and state funding. Serves as Alaska WIC's United States Drug Administration (USDA) / Family Nutrition Services (FNS) Information Technology Point of Contact. Manages and provide routine updates to the Implementation Advance Planning Document (IAPD), FNS National & Western Region offices. Chairs the executive steering committee and coordinates activities within the department's Information Technology Project Management Office. Drafts updates and other communications for the DHSS Commissioner’s Office, DPA Director's Office and State Information Technology Governance Board.

Performing a wide range of tasks associated with implementing a web-enabled information system which will support statewide operations of the WIC Program, reaching approximately 26,000 Alaskans across the state each month.
