I characterize myself as an advocate for providing affordable medical imaging equipment for all specialties in the human and veterinary markets worldwide. As a business professional with an entrepreneurial bent, I apllied technical expertise as an engineering consultant for large corporations with complex integrative technology intiatives. This led me to garnering hands-on knowledge of particular medical equipment as a principal in a company that distributes refurbished and used equipment. My expertise and great interest in using technology to develop business communications and grow a business more rapidly helped make this a sucessful endeaver. Six years ago, with the advances in the portability and use of ultrasounds in over 23 different medical specialties, it was time to grow what my brother and I saw as the opportunities to bring affordable imaging equipment to more doctors, hospitals and medical centers. We started National Ultrasound, Inc.When the major manufacturers at the time paid us little attention, we devised a strategy based on our research of emerging manufacturers in China and contacted 3 of the largest. We advised them of the US market, changes required to meet FDA requirements and what software was necessary for American sonographers.This collaborative approach was successful as our company helped grow the Chinese ultrasound presence in the US. To meet the desire for innovative imaging equipment worldwide at all budget levels, we have joined with Toshiba in a “Trade-in” Program and exclusive regional agreements with this manufacturer. Easing the restraints of replacing older models with new, and then helping others gain the use of refurbished ultrasounds is very satisfying.
