With my assistance and leadership, the Board: Began, carried out and completed a $1.4 million capital campaign for new Library building (the majority raised in small, private donations from a rural population of 6,000).New building opened Feb 2012, with dramatic increases in Library usage, program participation and volunteer hours.2012 began with an operational cash flow crisis as construction wound down, but after a rigorous fundraising campaign the year ended with a $60K cash surplus.At the close of my Presidency, APL was named one of two finalists for Library Journal's "Best Small Library in America" award for 2013, competing against libraries more than twice its size.
