As well as serve as a mentor for the youth in the program.

I am involved in the training of new mentors enter the program. This involves teaching them about the origins of the program, teaching the philosophies we work with in, grading papers and quizzes, and answering an questions. After training is complete, I am in charge of supervising the cases to ensure the mentor is working within the program ideals and philosophies, as well as helping the mentor through any rough patches. I also conduct interviews for prospective students wanting to become a mentor. I am also involved in the youth intake interview process.

After an extensive 8 week training period I worked for up to eight hours a week, for an eight-teen week period with a youth in Ingham County. During the time of the individual based intervention we worked on areas such as school, family life, and pro-social activities. Working through different areas of the youths life we focused on the youths strengths to help improve their current situation, instead of focusing on weaknesses.

I first started working in the back taking delivery and pick-up orders over the phone, as well as making sure the food was set up and ready for service. I moved up to serving where I excelled at making sure my customers enjoyed their visit and that their food was exactly what they had ordered. Could manage up to a twenty person party by myself. Was also asked to help train incoming staff members. I was then asked to take on the responsibility of bartender. For this position I was in charge of serving alcoholic beverages to patrons that are of legal drinking age. As well as ensuring that no patron was over served in the facility. I am also responsible for helping run food and busing tables when needed.
