About Christopher Trotman
Since graduating from the University of Essex in 2013 with a BSc in Ecology I have immersed myself in the field of environmental consultancy. My first consultancy job out of university was working for Crane Environmental where I developed my report writing and technical reviewing skills. Here I demonstrated my high attention to detail and ability to work under pressure. I worked very closely with a number of water and environmental committees as well as public sector clients. I started at The Ecology Consultancy (TEC) in 2015 working on the Additional Provisions on HS2 Phase 1. Since then, I have worked as the bat species lead on HS2, the CR2 Assistant Project Manager, in it's start up stage, and then finally as the APM on HS2 Enabling Works managing a small Project Officer/Project Administrator team as well as my own line managees. In August 2018, I moved over to TEC's sister company Temple where I worked as the Land Access Manager managing a small team responsible for making access calls on behalf of HS2. Since then I have worked as the APM on AWSc Bernwood, South & Phase 2a projects. In July 2023 I took over the Project Management role on HS2 South and Phase 1c Bernwood. My strong logistical, financial and scheduling skills have been utilised whilst working at TEC in the planning and scheduling of surveys. I also have strong communication and client engaging skills developed from working closely with an range of subcontractors, landowners and technical experts.I have supported senior staff in the delivery of presentations and developed my knowledge in ecological legislation and policy – particularly water vole, bats, and hedgerow.
