Manage the ecology programme on behalf of TEC as well as overseeing the day to day work of the Project Officer/Assistant team.

Lead Project Officer for the ecology team working on the longest stretch of HS2. Involved in the production of ecological reports, ensuring consistency and quality throughout. Line manager of two members of staff as well as managing the HS2 project team making sure the team are happy and confident in the work assigned. Chairing meeting, interviewing applicants and training of new staff. Responsible for planning and scheduling all protected species surveys and overall company logistics including KPI vehicle mileage trackers. In charge of data management for the project; ensuring all data collected was complete and to a high standard. Communicating daily with subcontractors and ecologists providing information to enable surveys to proceed, managing their timesheets and expenses claims. Involved in the production of purchase orders for the company.Making access calls on behalf of Atkins and Temple Group.Deputy Project Manager in the production of the Crossrail 2 Ecological Methods and Standards (EcoMS). Also involved in the preparation of health and safety plans, survey logistics & scheduling on the CR2 project including bat hibernation and NVC surveys. GCN, tree valuation and bat radio-tracking field experience including infra-red surveys in London, Surrey and Buckingham.Worked with TEC’s Technical Director on the Natural History Museum ground enhancement scheme, impact assessment. Sat on the Health, Safety & Wellbeing Working Group taking minutes and planning actions. Produce the monthly Health & Safety bulletin that is sent company wide as well as providing feedback to the company on all H&S incidents that have occurred and the lessons learnt from the incidents weekly. First aider & fire marshall for TEC.Part of the marketing work group working on the updates for the new website.

Sat on the Defra Policy Advisory Group. Attended both ADA’s Policy & Finance and Technical & Environmental Committees where I presented a number of topics including water vole legislation, hedge trimming rules and audit commission. Involved in water vole, eel and beaver species legislation, through discussions on how to better protect them on man-made water courses. Researched and produced a monthly e-newsletter, the contents of which was then used or amplified for the quarterly ADA Gazette. Organised the Local Authority Seminar held in March 2015, which was attended by over 60 associate members interested in water level management. Responsible for editing the ADA website, and first point of contact for members of Internal Drainage Boards, Lead Local Flood Authorities, Regional Flood and Coastal Committees and the general public, a role I particularly enjoyed. I took great pleasure in helping to solve problems which suited all parties involved.
