At the age of 18, I left school and took an apprenticeship as a laboratory technician apprentice in the field of Life Sciences at the Univeristy of Nottingham. This gave me a great start to working life as it taught me many transferrable skills such as organisation and time management as well as working as part of a team in a workplace setting. I decided to leave this role in 2020 and decided I wanted to persue a different career in the field of Computer Sciences which I thought would be best to do by attending a university. Throughout my course I have learned many different programming languages such as C, C#, C++ and Python being the main ones. As well as gaining lots of specific technical knowledge, I have also devolped my general computer skills throughout the course as well and would say I'm very computer literate. During the summer of 2021, I worked as a retail assistant at Decathlon, Giltbrook as a way to help me fund a student life. This was a different type of work to what I had done before and therefore I gained some new experience, most notably in customer service. Alongside all of my jobs, I have maintained an interest in photography and have a couple of portfolios detailing my work. Most recently, I was accepted as a contributor on iStock and Shutterstock.
