One of these epic adventures was a 30000km, 8-month trip that took him through 20 countries all the way from Cape Town, South Africa to Dublin, Ireland. This grand journey was achieved on a little 150cc LML Vespa scooter, with no support vehicle. The expedition was a publicity stunt to raise awareness for a local children's hospital. Unfortunately, an illness contracted during the ride through Africa ultimately led to him losing his sight.His work draws from a lifetime of experiences both pre and post-sight loss. His poignant and persuasive stories are most often told with a wry sense of humour.Since sight loss, his challenges have seen him climbing Europes largest active volcano,while it was snowing and it was erupting. He has pedalled, paddled, climbed and undertaken the most unbelievable feats as a blind adventurer. From sailing to flying, to navigating 22 different means of mobility around Killarney International raceway. He recently completed constructinga new home with the entire project been shot for a DSTV documentary called Building Blind.On stage, he is often joined by his handsome guide dog, a labrador retriever called Sam, who he quips, is the real star of the show.
