I am an experienced robotics, autonomy, and artificial intelligence scientist with a track record of success leading challenging multidisciplinary technical projects, research and development, and field operations. Throughout my career, I have served as an entrepreneurial team leader, an enthusiastic team player, and a practical and resourceful hacker, engineer and system analyst. My diverse career experience spans academia and startups as well as global Fortune 500 corporations and defense contractors. I graduated from George Mason University (Ph.D., Computer Science) and have published work in probabilistic motion planning and multi-agent systems. My industry portfolio spans research and engineering across the vast domain of robotics and autonomy, with particular experience in networking, embedded systems, small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS), motion planning, and artificial intelligence. I've hacked upon every part of the robotics hardware and software systems stack from low-level circuit design and mechanical prototyping up to artificial intelligence, API design, usability, and human machine interfaces. I've also been a long-time community leader and technology educator, with experience in public speaking, technical writing, organizing events, workshops, and demonstrations, and mentoring and tutoring. In my spare time, I enjoy photography and tinkering with electronics and computers.
