As an aspiring architect, my mission is to improve people's lives through design. Specifically, I aim to assist those affected by natural disasters and those living in impoverished conditions worldwide.One of my role models is Shigeru Ban, whose passion and dedication have elevated the lives of people impacted by catastrophic events. Ban continuously explores recyclable materials and construction methods to make his projects not only affordable but also structurally sound.Ban's commitment to helping natural disaster victims resonates with me personally, as I myself have been a victim of natural disasters. I grew up on a tropical island that suffered from yearly hurricanes, which not only strained infrastructure but also rendered houses vulnerable to the elements. Additionally, these disasters led to long-term issues, such as the need to borrow money from the IMF, which comes with severe consequences if repayment is not met.Through academic and practical education, I aim to help victims build more sustainable homes that can withstand challenging climate conditions. My goal is to develop architecture that not only assists those affected by natural disasters but also inspires others in the same way that Ban has inspired me.To achieve my passion, I recognize the need to further my education in areas such as Construction Methods, Planning and Design, Project Management, Project Development, Leadership, and Community Involvement.
