At Lucence, I was responsible for Medical Affairs in the Asia-Pacific region, providing marketing and technical support to sales team and physicians on the medical utility of Lucence's clinical tests. I also oversee the management and operations of the clinical laboratory (CLIA certified, CAP accredited).As CEO Macrogen, I was responsible for APAC sales and developing new markets particularly for clinical genomics diagnostics, and exploring opportunities in Direct-to-consumer genomics. As the Lab Director, I was also responsible for all operations in the lab, including clinical testing. I achieved CAP accreditation for the facility, and obtained the clinical laboratory license under the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Act (Chapter 248) in Singapore, as the licensee, for molecular pathology services.As CEO for ADL, I obtained CAP-accreditation for the laboratory, and started marketing efforts for its NGS assays.As Chief Operating Officer for POLARIS, I established a CAP-accredited laboratory which enables the use of clinical next-generation sequencing technologies in Singapore, and have been active in building the POLARIS brand for clinical NGS assays. As CSO Translational Technologies at GIS, I was responsible for developing applications for GIS intellectual property, evaluating technology, commercializing research discoveries and business development. First product invented and licensed off was the GIS H1N1 Flu Biosurveillance Kit.In 2011, I founded PathGEN Dx, which commercialises the PathChip - a pan-virus/bacteria detection chip, based on research initiated in my GIS laboratory. The company developed 2 products - one chip-based and the other NGS-based. As Head, Biopolis Shared Facilities, I was responsible for managing the Scientific Services division, including strategic planning and business development.
