In addition to everything written below for Information Desk Assistant, there are some additional tasks I perform in this managerial position. These include employee scheduling, helping hire new employees, creating and carrying out employee training with our supervisor, managing biweekly staff meetings with our team supervisor to maintain an effective and communicative work environment, creating and providing unique materials for team in order to make work flow more fluid and to make providing accurate information easier.

As an information desk assistant I'm responsible for providing information to patrons who approach the desk to ask questions, answering the phone, and running the games area on the 1st floor of the Davis Center. Typically we receive questions about the building or the campus, but we get asked all kinds of questions. They could range anywhere from directions to a location on campus to information about good places to eat in downtown Burlington. As of spring 2014, we also rent out bikes to students for our campus bikeshare program.

I am spending my final semester working on research with Professor Maeve Eberhardt. Both parts of this study were corpus-based. The first part consisted of analyzing gender and sexuality in the lyrics of sissy bounce artists. The second part consisted of using AntConc to search and take note of certain verbs in the Harry Potter series and take note of who spoke them and how they were used.

Along with two other volunteers, managed the Korea House program which was a suite-style living community for those who were interested in Korean culture and language. As a program director, I was responsible for creating events for the general public and other Living and Learning community members to attend that were related to Korea and Korean culture. I was also responsible for managing a suite of approximately 6 people.
