Flood events analysis within Kifissos river catchment area with Decision Support Systems, in collaboration with the Agricultural University of Athens (Water Resources Management Lab) and the Hellenic National Meteorological Service. An in-depth hydrological analysis of the river catchment area within Athens Metropolitan region was undertaken using DHI MIKE-SHE tool. A comparative analysis of the simulated flood events was performed against the actual recorded extreme events to showcase the potential of decision support systems in prevention and mitigation of natural disasters.
