Since joining the Company in 1974, I have over 40 years continuous experience within the Construction Industry on numerous and diverse projects including Pharmaceutical, Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Leisure and Healthcare. Beginning as an apprentice plumber, I have progressed from qualified plumber/pipe-fitter to site foreman to site manager and for the past 18 years as company Environmental Health & Safety Manager. Responsibilities include the continual development and maintenance of our independently audited & certified (CIF/IOSH) safety management system, ‘Safe-T-Cert’ in compliance with all primary and secondary health & safety legislation relevant to our business. Other duties include the preparation and provision of documentation to include site specific safety statements, risk assessments, method statements, provision of health and safety advice, auditing and inspection, incident investigation and personnel training. Our safety management system has been recognised by the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) with the presentation of several awards at the NISO Annual Occupational Safety Awards including one Major Award.
