As a founder of the Fayette County Public Schools Community for Creativity initiative, my job is to build an infrastructure that supports student creation of new and original content. Each day is different...from working with students to launch an entertainment label to implementing a school-wide gig economy, what we do is based on the premise that all students can create to deepen learning and connect to their passions. I am based at the first pilot program at Rising Starr Middle School, and also develop countywide marketing materials and industry partnerships to promote program expansion. Daily job responsibilities range from teaching classes, to coordinating teacher professional development, to authoring multi-disciplinary curriculum modules to support classroom needs, to working with students on content creation through collaboration with academic, CTAE, and Fine Arts teachers. The program has received recognition by organizations including the Georgia School Board Association, Georgia School Superintendents Association, and EdLeader21. In addition, I collaborate with Georgia State University as a co-researcher analyzing the program impact on student achievement outcomes, and frequent as a presenter and guest lecturer for organizations and conferences focusing on creative learning, program building, or music education.

As the Director of Choral Activities at Rising Starr Middle School, I directed over 300 students enrolled in 6 choirs and a special music education program. Achievements Include:*Named 2016 Georgia Middle School Association’s Teacher of the Year and 2013 Grammy Music Teacher of the Year Quarterfinalist *Frequent presenter at regional and national education conferences on technology in the classroom, arts integration, differentiated learning, & recruiting strategies *Contributed writing and research to national/ international education journals *Authored Fayette County Schools Student Learning Objectives chorus assessment and curriculum framework *Grew program enrollment from 80 to 315 students; managing a 10-member Booster Board, Assistant Director and $30,000 annual budget *Created Rock Friday Program- Collaboration between community musicians, local artists, and students *Received national acclaim for special music education program that provides music learning and performance opportunities for students with special needs *Choirs consistently received superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation and performed at conferences for the Georgia Music Educators Association, the Georgia Middle School Association, and the Georgia School Superintendents Association*Served as an Honor Choir Clinician for districts across the state of Georgia

As the Associate Director of Choral Activities at Starr's Mill High School, I directed the Beginning Women's Chorus and Special Music Ensemble, taught Intro to Drama, and co-taught AP Music Theory, Men's Chorus, and Advanced Mixed Chorus. I served as the Musical Director for the school's annual productions and on the Miss Starr's Mill Pageant Board of Directors, a preliminary for the Georgia's Outstanding Teen Pageant (Miss America Organization).Achievements include choir performances at the Georgia Music Educators Association Annual In-Service Conference and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine (NY, NY), along with a Georgia High School Musical Theatre nomination for Best Music Direction. Choirs consistently received superior ratings at Large Group Performance Evaluation.

Founded in 1852, Phi Mu is a women’s organization which provides personal and academic development, service to others, commitment to excellence and lifelong friendship through a shared tradition.As the Extension Coordinator, I managed the department that created campus proposals/ presentations, promotional/ fundraising events, and recruitment/ marketing campaigns for new company branches. I coordinated training and management of the onsite promotional team consisting of consultants, staff, and volunteers. Additional responsibilities included management of department budget and donor cultivation. Achievements include winning 11 contracts to start new collegiate branches located in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, Michigan, Arkansas, and Illinois, creating more revenue in two years through membership dues than in the previous ten years.

In this role, I reviewed finances, facilitated leadership training, met with university officials and audited the daily operations of the company collegiate branches located in the lower United States Alabama to California region (approximately 40 branches). Position required 100% travel.
