IBM is one of the most complex and deep places to work. We sell everything for every type and size of company world-wide. There are over 350,000 employees driving over $90B a year in revenue. That said I worked with Christy on projects to enable revenue for key plays for two of our toughest areas. Public Sector which includes federal, state and local agencies around the world. The requirements are high, the bar is set high and the stakes are ---- yes ---- high. It is not uncommon to deal with a $300M deal. Christy owned channel enablement for Public which includes both our direct and indirect channels (business partners). Christy did such a stellar job in Public that they moved her to our small-to-medium business unit. This is a "white space" for IBM as traditionally we do a lot of work for larger enterprises. Christy's can-do attitude and basically work-till-you-drop standards helped us gain substantial market share in SMB which we call "General Business". Here's where she had to apply her skills and deep experience as well as a generous portion of common sense and creativity. Christy is a huge loss for IBM. The recent cuts by one were described as "surgical" in light of the current economic crisis. No area, level or skill set was immune to the cuts. Frankly I myself am lucky to still be here - in the right place at the right time. Christy not only has skills and experience but also a GREAT attitude and work ethic.
