As a Teacher-Librarian at the high school level, I facilitated student success in the areas of:- Technology Enhancements: I introduced SMART boards; developed a web presence for the library using social media; added e-books, e-newspapers and electronic database subscriptions to the collection; sourced and installed technology for student use (colour printers, scanners, cameras for photography and video)- Research Skills: I created and taught a successful program based on university expectations, Ontario curriculum and the school's academic vision; conducted academic honesty education- Learning Opportunities: I realigned the library space to accommodate different learning styles; hosted the "Leave Your Homework at School" initiative where students received extra help- Literacy Development: I curated the library collection to meet TDSB equity guidelines and to appeal/benefit special needs students and boys in particular; collaborated with French and English teachers to create literature circles; increased circulation by over 200%- Volunteer Engagement: I recruited, trained and motivated 45 volunteers and co-op students- Community Building: I initiated an e-newsletter sent to parents to communicate library progress and invite dialogue; hosted Hot Docs, young adult authors, G20 committees, science fairs and history showcases
