About Christy Kohser

A career in Advertising Traffic & Project management in Pittsburgh set the stage for me to follow my dream and work in the food and wine industry in NYC. After receiving my master's degree in Food Studies at NYU (thesis work on beer and wine) and a brief but poignant stint in ad agencies in NYC I took the plunge and focused on food and (especially) wine. My efforts landed me a lovely 2-year stretch managing food & wine events at Astor Center and sales and marketing positions at the top wine retailers in the country including my last position in NYC at a Chilean wine company where I was able to add wine education/teaching to my repertoire. Like many Pittsburghers who left the area, I moved back to be with family in 2014 where I continued working in avocational education, pivoting in 2018 to higher education administration at the University of Pittsburgh.
