Public relations, public participation, social media, and all aspects of generating audience engagement are a passion of mine! With my education in both Communications and Sociology, I have flourished exploring and cultivating relationships on behalf of organizations that I truly believe in.Currently, I am the Director of Communications at Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8, a small, exurban school district south of Colorado Springs serving the communities in the City of Fountain and on the Fort Carson military installation. This is a brand new position for the district and I look forward to launching us in the right direction using my prior experiences.I have spent over nine years acquiring a deep knowledge of government and educational communications working for School District 51 in Grand Junction, CO. As an internal communications advocate, I strengthened their internal communications practices, which was a key communications strategy for an organization with over 2,600 employees located across 42 physical facilities! I also managed local media on a daily basis. I joined and served on leadership teams for local and statewide communication associations.Before that, my first job out of the college gates was at an ad agency in Denver where I gained valuable experience in all fields advertising - media buying, account management, pr, human resources, accounting, you name it.
