In this project, RealTax, I work as developer on both the server side and the client side. The server, implemented in Java, makes use of various open-source web technologies such as Spring, Spring Boot, as well as Hibernate, JPA, and JDBC to connect to its Oracle database.The front-end has evolved through various iterations and Javascript frameworks. It was initially implemented via Java Server Pages (JSP) and the Yahoo User Interface (YUI) libraries. When YUI's retirement was announced, we rewrote the entire client, and the controller layer of the server, to use HTML5 & jQuery.Early in 2020, corporate direction mandated that we migrate from jQuery to AngularJS, necessitating another rewrite of the client and the controller layer of the server. This effort continues today and will for the foreseeable future.
