Prior to joining Sands Capital, I was a filmmaker, producer, and entrepreneur with over ten years of experience leading creative and strategic initiatives at organizations like National Geographic, Smithsonian Channel, and Science Magazine. I ran a media production business and attended nationwide events to pitch my documentary series, Uncovering Passion. I have extensive experience operating in loosely structured environments and leading teams on innovative projects. I have supported and championed entrepreneurs and small businesses through Uncovering Passion, and have helped small businesses better represent their unique offerings to their customers. I am a collaborative team-player and I love tackling new challenges!I have taken acting classes at Studio Theater in Washington, DC and Upright Citizens Brigade in New York, attended a filmmaking workshop at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, been awarded a scholarship to attend the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers as an "emerging producer", and spoken to large groups about the power of storytelling.
