As part of the NASA/NSF Mission EARTH grant, I work with teachers in the state of New Mexico to implement GLOBE environmental observation protocols in their schools. I provide training in the protocols for Atmosphere, Biosphere, Pedosphere, and Hydrosphere, as well as follow up support to make sure teachers have what they need to integrate these protocols into their classroom lessons.

I teach Introduction to Atmospheric Science during the spring semester. This course focuses on the basics of the atmosphere, weather, and climate, with the goal of providing enough background knowledge for students to be able to use environmental data in their field.

I run New Mexico Wildlife Center's Science Education Program, including the River Classroom program, summer science camps, teacher training events, community science nights, and citizen science projects. Our River Classroom Program is a year-long place-based, experiential science program designed to supplement science taught by the classroom teacher. We focus on data collection and submit our water quality observations to NMED's Surface Water Quality Bureau. We teach our students to understand and enjoy the natural world around them. We also emphasize data collection and processing skills that will help our students get jobs in the future.
