As well as a large team of developers, new methodologies (such as Use Cases, Unified Modelling Language & Agile Development) were introduced which have since become the standard. At the time the project pushed the limits of extranet systems in areas such as security, authentication and encryption. The project was the first at Intel to use high grade encryption outside of the US and dealt with issues such as performance in Eastern Europe & Asia. The project also involved the management of the integration of a number of other projects and globally dispersed teams to deliver a fully integrated solution which delivered $1 billion of eCommerce revenue in it's first quarter and has continued to be the cornerstone of Intel's ebusiness solution for it's customers.
