Having graduated from Oxford with a law degree in mid 1977, by November 1978 I was a commission only life insurance broker in the City of London - not exactly a natural career progression! I have been a financial adviser ever since - specialising in risk advice since the mid 1990s.I started training large numbers of new advisers in Australia from the early 1990s, initially in the generic sales skills space and then when I myself starting specialising in risk advice, I added a lot of risk advice specific content to my repertoire - all focusing on improving your client engagement skills.I have had my Consultancy now for over 10 years and I have made a huge difference to many advisers by showing them how to walk the tightrope between client friendly and compliant and how to turn what is often seen as a grudge purchase into a fantastic opportunity for their clients.I am passionate about helping financial advisers have a more user friendly engagement process with their clients when it comes to personal protection, thereby making it easier to ensure that all clients and their families have an appropriate personal protection package in the face of illness,accident or premature death.
