As Director of Marketing, I am responsible for all digital campaigns, and communication strategies for Black Male Educators Alliance of Michigan (BMEA).BMEA is a collective of educators, mentors, community leaders, and other professionals who partner to increase the number of effective Black male educators to improve the educational experiences for urban children.Web Development was one of the first tasks I supported. As a new non-profit organization, it was essential we had a home online so that our supporters and donors could visit to register for upcoming events, make donations, join our mailing list and get involved with the organization.Even as a non-profit lead generation is a big part of our digital strategy. Building our database of supporters allows us to communicate widely and easily. We have also built audiences of our video viewers across Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube.Social Media Marketing for us consists of posting on the various platforms and amplifying our messages to audiences across the country that are likely to be interested in our work. This has allowed us to scale our paid outreach to hundreds of thousands of people across the world. Many of our posts are shared hundreds of times and receive hundreds of positive reactions.Organizing national conferences and event planning for 500+ people utilizes a combination of skills and tools to execute at a high level.
