His main responsibilities included guiding the team to follow best practices in software development, managing technical debt, and ensuring our tech stack was suited to our needs. With his vast experience, Chris was able to find the right balance when adopting new technologies, ensuring they were effectively utilized and wouldn't just end up as tech debt later. He spearheaded the planning and launch of an internal LLM-based chatbot, recognizing its potential to revolutionize how scientists interact with our internal knowledge base.

 Additionally, Chris led the Tech Lead Forum, a working group dedicated to defining best practices for the team. He also organized and oversaw our Focus Weeks, dedicated to reducing technical debt. Furthermore, Chris supported the establishment of the Frontend Working Group, which I co-founded with two colleagues. Through this group, I worked closely with Chris and witnessed firsthand his insightful guidance and ability to strategically decide the most impactful changes to improve our frontend codebase.
