Technical Advisor & Business DevelopmentI Design Planning Inc. Sep 2019 - Dec 2021Toronto, Ontario~ Provided general, technical design advice and support as required by the design teams.~ Provided technical advice on a new multi-floor internal staircase for a client in a downtown office tower. ~ Although not within IDPI's scope - we worked with the structural engineer team on site for a solution needed by the GC in constructing a mechanical service platform required for future maintenance work above an extremely high as well as extremely congested ceiling. ~ Developed and help in organizing the firm's business procedures, staff biographic documentation and general marketing documents.~ Arranged for in-house continue learning seminars for the staff. ~ Provided research and recommendation on best boom lift to use by client in a 14m high ceiling retail banking hall for future maintenance work. Including study of best access route into the client's space. ~ Secured new client for IDPI - Provided Feasibility Study to the Bata Shoe Museum. Expand the archive storage facility and increasing the overall artefact storage capacity .

Operations Manager, Administration & Facilities Manager, ArchivistMoriyama Teshima Architects Mar 2009 - Aug 2019117 George Street, Toronto, Ontario M5A 2N4~ Report to the partners, responsibilities included the daily administration and management of the Toronto office and on-going maintenance of the firm's Archival Records. ~ Chris was responsible for scheduling and arrangement of the office move from the iconic 32 Davenport Road site to the new location. He took extra steps in the proper distribution and relocation of the well known artworks collected and displayed in the office over the years. He found new owners for all the huge potted plants as well as most of the 'smaller' trees and shrubs in the garden, including all interior the red wood ceiling and wall claddings, most built-in furnishing before vacating the building before demolition.~ At the new office, he continued the important task in research and scheduling Continue Education and helped raised the knowledge levels of the MTA staff. He arranged for timely seminars when needed as well as responsible for the weekly Lunch & Learn programs. ~ With approval from the partners, Chris took on the extra responsibility as the firm's unofficial Archivist. ~ Chris was responsible for transporting old files to the off-site archival storage facility as well as providing any necessary expansion, reduction and maintenance when required. He organized, arranged and managed all archived material donations to government institutions and universities benefiting the owners with welcome tax credits. -

Projects where he had prime responsibility: ~ Reference Library - The Marilyn & Charles Baillie Special Collection Centre, previously the Arthur Conan Doyle (ACD) 1st Edition Collection Storage. Developed conceptual design, architectural details including circular stairs and gallery, back-of-house book depository, light-weight concrete sectional tables, ACD period library, meeting room and display cases.~ The Canadian War Museum - Responsible for artifact inventory, concept development and design detailing, fabricator capability research. Specification work, tendering and award. Project administration and commissioning. Also included as part of architectural team, responsibility included: millwork, retail store design, reflected ceiling, the corten steel design of the Main Ticket Office and the design of the Material & Reference Library on the main floor. On material handling - recommended CWM's portable air-bearing transport system for relocation of heavy tanks & armoury in the public display area.~ The Niagara Falls History Museum (NFHM) - a challenging project with an extremely low budget that included Inventory, design and special negotiations with both the fabricator/supplier for the new storage system as well as with the City of Niagara Falls for 3rd party fabrication of custom wall mounted storage racks and a fume hood in order to cut expenses. ~ Parks Canada - lead design role in the planning and the design of a storage system that will house the client's entire diverse collection of artifacts from 6 different locations across the nation. A growing collection of more than 25 million pieces of artifacts. -

All interior Finishes and Furnishings.~ Canadian Forces College, Toronto - as part of the design team with SNC Lavalin. Took leadership roll in the master planning for entire college site. Scope included the Officers College, Officers Residents (both existing and 2 new complexes), Officers' Clubhouse and Guest House. -
