HomAlert - "Risk Detection System for Enclosed Spaces"The project, developed under the IDAC team with university supervision, focuses on designing an advanced Smart Home Emergency Notification System. By integrating multiple sensors, such as smoke, gas, water, and temperature-humidity detectors, with a NodeMCU microcontroller, the system ensures real-time monitoring and detection of critical emergencies, including fires, floods, gas leaks, and intrusions. Notifications are seamlessly delivered to residents via a mobile application or web dashboard, allowing for timely responses and effective risk mitigation.As part of the programming team, I am responsible for developing the project’s central website, HomAlert, using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap. The platform provides users with access to a personalized dashboard through a secure sign-up and login process. This dashboard offers complete system control, detailed monitoring, and instant notifications for detected risks.The project is designed for scalability and integration with existing smart home technologies, combining cutting-edge IoT solutions, sensor networks, and user-centric design. My internship was conducted through RIF Internship Programme (Research and Innovation Foundation) during which I worked on the following:1. Data Collection and Analysis for Photovoltaic Park PerformanceCollecting and analyzing data on the performance of photovoltaic parks to maximize profitability for the benefit of the company. This process is achieved through systematic monitoring and evaluation of the system's performance.2. Identification of Peripheral Devices and System Software for Solar Energy Production EnhancementIdentifying peripheral devices and system software aimed at increasing solar energy production. This includes learning SCADA operating protocols and development software.3. Specialized Measurements in Photovoltaic ParksConducting measurements using specialized instruments in photovoltaic parks. Overseeing and maintaining the parks, as well as resolving potential issues in both software and hardware systems.Through the knowledge and expertise I gained during my internship at the company, I acquired significant advantages that will greatly benefit my career as an undergraduate student. My work involved areas such as data collection and analysis from photovoltaic parks, identifying peripheral devices and software to enhance solar energy production, as well as measuring, overseeing, and maintaining these facilities.These skills enable me to optimize system performance, accurately resolve issues, and contribute to increasing efficiency and profitability for the company. Additionally, I developed problem-solving abilities, enhanced my professional adaptability, and strengthened my capacity to adapt to new technologies and challenges.My experience with SCADA standards and development software equipped me to manage complex systems while improving my communication skills and expanding my opportunities in the job market.
