As a coding bootcamp instructor, I teach web development courses to adult learners in a highly compressed timeline, using a flipped classroom instruction model. I am currently teaching a foundational class in HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript 2015 (ES6). I love teaching, engaging, and challenging my students, and take a very hands-on approach to lecturing, even in a virtual environment, and I consistently score high marks in student feedback. I am extremely comfortable teaching both in-person and online classes.

As a core member of a small, three-person, agile development team, I am responsible for the design and development of modern front-end and full-stack web applications that support indigenous culture-based education. We built a full-scale, database-driven, iterative application from concept to public launch in just 15 months with only two full-time developers. While we are all responsible for all areas of the application stack, I am happiest working on the front end and rely on user feedback to inform the next iteration of development. I am very comfortable in HTML5, CSS/SCSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript ES6, Angular 9, TypeScript, RxJS, Firebase and Cloud Firestore, Node.js, Auth0, Zapier, and WordPress. I also have some experience with Python, NativeScript, Flutter, React, and Unity. Outside of my developer role, I frequently participate in department and divisional cross-functional teams, community engagement and outreach, user feedback sessions, strategic alignment meetings, and public speaking. I am a technology trainer for non-technical staff in my department, and have taught others how to use Zoom, Teams, Slack, Trello, Basecamp, InSpace, Jira, and other planning and instructional aids effectively.

As a Web Development Bootcamp Instructor for Westcliff University's College of Technology and Engineering, I developed curriculum for a coding bootcamp for high school and college students.Westcliff's Full Stack Coding Bootcamp Certificate program is unique and fully accredited by WASC, and includes front-end courses on Git, HTML 5, CSS 3, Javascript, Object-Oriented Programming, and React as well as back-end and supplemental courses in Node, Express, Design Patterns, Algorithms and Data Structures, Web Security, RESTful API Development, MongoDB, and Testing.

Leading a team of professional and student staff, I managed a busy student center and programming to support the academic and social engagement, inclusion, and success of military-affiliated students. Under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Retention and Success, I coordinated, planned, deployed, and evaluated all campus-wide services, programs, events, and activities for the target student population, and served as a campus and system-wide subject matter expert on military-affiliated student success and veterans' educational benefits. I was nationally recognized for my work, and was frequently invited to speak at state and national conferences. By collaborating with various departments and resources on campus, I worked to identify and mitigate systemic barriers to student veteran success and equity at UC San Diego.

As a freelance web developer, I did contractual development work for small business clients and volunteered in the local tech community, helping to grow mentorship programs for women. My work was primarily in JavaScript, React, Express, Node, SQL, MongoDB, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and WordPress. My team won first place in a local hackathon.

At the University of California, Riverside, I coordinated, planned, deployed, and evaluated all campus-wide services, programs, events, and activities that support the engagement, inclusion, and success of military-affiliated students, which include veterans, service members, and military dependents. By collaborating with various departments and resources on campus, I worked to identify and mitigate systemic barriers to student veteran success and equity at UC Riverside. As a subject-matter expert, I was appointed to the UC President's Advisory Committee on student veterans, and served as the systemwide chair of the 10-campus veterans services committee for 3 years. I was frequently invited to speak at state and national conferences, and was also invited to speak on a three-person panel of experts for a Congressional Briefing in Washington, D.C. on the subject of campus-based support for student veteran success and the limitations of the Post-9/11 GI Bill.

I was initially hired as a campus registrar and security administrator with a small staff, but quickly identified a need to create programming to support rapid enrollment growth among the military-affiliated student population following the enactment of the Post-9/11 GI Bill. I worked with campus administrators to create a new department, including new job descriptions for myself and additional staff, to meet these needs. I also proposed, planned, and launched a new veteran resource center on the downtown campus to serve approximately 1,200 students. As a director, my position primarily entailed supervising my staff, engaging in strategic planning and realignment, and managing my department.
