As a Clinical Science Liaison, I serve as a resource across W. L. Gore in the development and execution of global publication and presentation strategies for clinical data generated by our studies. All CSL's are expected to maintains an understanding of the clinical study process, clinical data, scientific writing, and publication process for each product from early feasibility through post market registries in order to partner and develop materials based on clinical data.

Oversees all aspects of preclinical studies. Responsibilities include: development of an animal model, generation of study protocol and amendments, and oversight of the technical conduct, analysis and interpretations of results. I am familiar with GLP, FDA General Considerations for Animal Studies of Cardiovascular Devices, and ISO 10993-2. Additionally, I have created new policies, forms, SOPs, supported internal cardiovascular teaching courses and helped to organize documents for study final report submission. Key Results: Provide support to the pre-clinical team of the medical products division by providing research, animal model and regulatory advice to project teams. FDA /GLP reports.  Explant Investigator for returned devices. Investigate complaints, write reports  IACUC committee member since 2012. Technical writing: Submitted 56 studies for review and approval by the IACUC since September 2013. Asses and interpret data from multiple sources including: Computed Tomography, Fluoroscopy, echocardiography and gross necropsy

As a Pre-clinical project technician I was committed to necropsy and retrieval of medical devices during pre-clinical trials, explant analysis of returned clinical devices, and dissection of human cadaver cardiovascular anatomy for training Key Results: Provide support to the pre-clinical team of the medical products division by retrieval of study devices, photography, X-ray, tissue/device fixation for histology and complete descriptions of necropsies.

A platform biotechnology company specializing in reproductive physiology. Recruited by the Board of Directors to implement and develop regulatory compliance and management in the areas of: animal research, human research, laboratory compliance, internal business and laboratory policies, international shipping of dangerous goods and international regulatory applications for new product approval. Key Results:Organized and coordinated the start up of an Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Maintained good relations with USDA resulting in no deficiencies issued. Wrote, submitted and was awarded a PHS Animal Welfare Assurance. Wrote all annual reports and all communications between the USDA and PHS.Organized, coordinated and chaired the start up of an Institutional Review Board on Human subjects (IRB).Developed and implemented a training database, inspected company to meet OSHA standards, and provide management of hazardous waste. Worked with senior management to create policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).Provided the following training to personnel: employee orientation, building security, OSHA standards, humane care and use of laboratory animals, lab techniques and shipping of dangerous goods

 Developed an animal training program for new students and researchers on humane care and use of laboratory animals, husbandry and procedural techniques with specific pathogen free rodents, amphibians, reptiles and fish.  Worked with FBI and Campus police to provide a safe work environment for animal care staff, students and researchers.  Grant writing – Contributing author on two NIH G20 grants and one C06 grants for renovations and/or construction of animal/research facilities. PI on GLAS funded grant 2010.  Submitted all required reporting documents regarding the use of laboratory animals to the USDA and PHS/Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW) keeping the University compliant.  Ordered needed research supplies including animals, surgical equipments and unique scientific equipment for experiments. Worked closely with Capital Assets and Services on building maintenance, renovations and repairs (new vivarium flooring, cage washer replacement and autoclave).  Developed and implemented billing rates and per diems as per the Cost Analysis and Rate Setting Manual for Animal Research Facilities. Managed building budget, salaries and ordering or research and building materials.
