About Chrystina Steffy

I am an expert energy analyst, leader and mentor with 20 years of diverse experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis of issues pertaining to the energy sector at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. I hold expertise in cost of service and cost allocation and rate design, pertinent legislation, Commission rules, regulations, policies, and precedential decisions governing utility industries. As a branch chief and expert witness in the Commission’s trial staff, I determine the strategic direction of diverse project teams of financial analysts, economists, accountants, and engineers to ensure that work product is of the highest quality, timely, and accurate. I oversee numerous cases simultaneously, coordinating workflow to maximize employee productivity and the technical division’s efficiency and effectiveness.I evaluate the interests of diverse participants and develope strategies to resolve differences through settlement. As such, I have facilitated the negotiation of nearly 80 mutually beneficial settlements of contested issues through collaborative and productive relationships with representatives in the natural gas pipeline and electric utilities industries. Where settlement has been unsuccessful, I have written and presented pre-filed testimony and have defended my recommendations during cross-examination before administrative law judges.
