Hello! I am Chua Yi Ling, a Diploma in Chinese Media & Communication Graduate. Since young, I have always been an avid audience of Chinese drama and think that the media industry is fun and exciting. My passion for the media sector grew even more when i joined Drama Club as my CCA in secondary school. After being in CMC for 3 years, i realised that my passion grew towards hosting and events. Which was the reason why i would volunteer to be the host for both internal and external events and also sign up for various events such as the Freshmen Orientation and also Outreach events for secondary school students. I also went through modules such as marketing and publicity where my team and i were tasked to plan an event to promote Hey Kaki, a sub brand of Singapore Press Holdings. Aside from fulfilling my duties as the host and logistics IC, I planned the activities and programme flow with my team members. Other than curriculum assignments, I also participated in the 2022 Passion Arts Festival where my friends and I planned an interactive performance and activity for young children. I also partook in my senior’s Final Year project and helped with administrative tasks. Being an event crew brings me joy as I am passionate and eager to learn more about events management and take part in events execution. The sense of satisfaction I feel when each event ends is indescribable. Throughout my 3 year journey in CMC, I learnt alot more about what goes on in the media industry and even got many opportunities to go on industry visits and interact with media professionals, allowing us to learn through their sharing. Some of my most memorable module would be Radio Production where we got the opportunity to learn how to control the control panel just like how a professional radio DJ usually does. Another module would be Media Ethics and Regulation where we had the opportunity to visit The Parliament as well as the State Court as part of our learning journey. Interesting learning journeys and sharing sessions by professional lawyers made lessons fun and enjoyable and eventually allowed me to achieve distinction in this module.Currently, I am looking forward to pursue my future studies at Nanyang Technological University.
