I'm an executive assistant in the travel and leisure industry with a diverse cultural background. Prior to returning to Taiwan, I lived in Canada for 20 years and graduated from McGill University with a degree in Finance. During my academic career, I accepted the risk of delaying my graduation to bring a hotel to life. I spent one year in Taiwan since The Lin was finishing construction and preparing for its soft opening. Our team was responsible for the completion of several projects so that the hotel can welcome guests from all around the world. Later on in my studies, I participated in an exchange program that once again brought me from Montreal to Asia but this time to Hong Kong. Studying in a completely new environment, I was able to further expand my cultural awareness. I am grateful to have had the privilege to study in a foreign country, meet new friends and face new challenges.Although I lived in North America for 20 years, I kept my cultural roots as most of my breaks were spent between 2 continents. I am also very privileged to have traveled to more than 40 countries . This has broadened my understanding of cultural differences and allowed me to embrace these distinctions in life, work and countless instances. I am now an executive assistant responsible for communicating, planning and execution of my company's strategy. Other responsibilities include the management of coupons, auditing of various fees and ensuring that the branch operations are level with that of our head office. Many of the experiences above have nothing to do with what I had studied but I believe this exactly what re-sparked my enthusiasm for Finance. I realized that a significant portion of my work relies on financial data, cost management and the overall trend of the market. I am confident that my experiences from my gap year, exchange and as an executive assistant has built me to become more confident and eager to explore new roles and different opportunities.
