Hello! My name is Tze Hean and I am currently a final-year medical student at LKCMedicine. My interests within the field of medicine lie in medical research, aging care, and surgical innovations. I am also dedicated to community volunteering and have founded two non-profit organisations, Budding Minds and A Good Meal. My work in Budding Minds has been recognised in local newspapers and by members-of-parliament, and I was also invited to the United Nations to give a speech about youth community entrepreneurship. Do connect with me! I am always excited to learn more about other topics and explore possible collaborations. 😊

Founder And Executive DirectorA Good Meal Jan 2024 - PresentSingaporeA Good Meal is a local initiative aimed at combating social isolation among the elderly, one good meal at a time. Many seniors who live alone tend to stay at home or eat near their neighbourhood. Given their age, it is not easy for them to travel out for social events. As such, we hope to bring them out to eat something nice and special, and to build lasting memories with them.Food is an inherent part of our Singaporean culture and serves a purpose beyond sustenance - it is instead a period of rest, social bonding and joy. Through our programme, we hope to bring these positive feelings to the seniors. After all, everyone deserves a good meal sometimes. -

Founder And Executive DirectorBudding Minds Oct 2018 - Jun 2021SingaporeBudding Minds is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to supporting youth development in academic areas. Our organization works with We Love Learning (WeLL) center, Marine Parade CC, Gek Poh CC and The Hut to deliver five educational programs that aim to provide support and guidance to young students.I founded Budding Minds in October 2018 with the goal of making a meaningful contribution to my community. I believe that every individual has the ability to make a positive impact on those around them, and I wanted to do my part to support the growth and development of young people. Rather than simply complaining about the challenges facing our education system, I took action by bringing together a team of like-minded volunteers and reaching out to local organizations to establish collaborative programs.I am proud to say that our efforts have been successful, with over 200 active tutors and 250 students participating in our programs. Our work has been recognized by The Straits Times and has received praise from Member of Parliament Ms Joan Pereira for the impact we are making in the lives of young people. At Budding Minds, we are committed to providing support and guidance to young students and helping them to achieve their full potential. We believe that every individual has the right to a quality education and are dedicated to doing our part to ensure that all young people have the opportunity to succeed. -
Volunteer CarerAssisi Hospice Jul 2019 - Jun 2021SingaporeAs a Volunteer Carer, I attended a training workshop prior with Assisi Hospice to learn basic nursing skills such as bed nursing, wheelchair usage, sponging and diaper changing. In my volunteer work, I worked closely with nurses to assist, manage and accompany patients in the wards on a regular basis. I have also completed a Hokkien Workshop organised by Assisi Hospice to learn how to better communicate with patients as many of them are only fluent in Hokkien. -
InternLee & Lee Dec 2017 - Jan 2018SingaporeI interned in Lee & Lee for a period of one month in the Real Estate Department, assisting lawyers in verifying documents such as pay-in/pay-out forms, notices of transfers and title search analyses. I was also engaged in drafting signing documents for Collective Sale Agreements, as well as attending meetings alongside lawyers and their clients. Under the guidance of the various lawyers in the Department, I also read up on legal statutes and research, and was able to apply these legal theories during my internship.
