I am co-owner/publisher/editor of Aurore Press, a Cincinnati-based micro publisher that specializes in showcasing local writers and artists. My experience at Aurore Press includes:•Writing and Editing over 10 book projects and 1 CD project•Organizing multiple writers for book anthologies•Overseeing creative input including writing introductions and titles, book design and curating•Organizing spoken word events with various venues for book releases•Promoting and organizing bands for book releases and annual Jockey Club Reunion shows at The Southgate House•Emceeing many of the events, reading my own work, managing Aurore Press merchandise, doing interviews and actively coordinating all events and promotion

• Press Operator Komori 6-28• Press Operator Komori 5-28• 2nd Press Operator Komori 6-40As the lead press operator at Berman Printing, each day I assessed the upcoming work load for the 2nd shift schedule, collected job tickets, printing plates, ink and paper for the upcoming jobs. All job ticket information had to be submitted into the computer program for final job counts, ink inventory, materials used and other inventory items. It was also my responsibility to run the job and maintain color and register throughout the entire job using personal knowledge and skills I acquired from experience. For the last 3 years at Berman, I worked on the press independently, a job that normally consists of 2 press personnel.Additional responsibilities include:• Quality control – approving line-up for job content before forwarding to the bindery, interaction with pre-press department when questions would arise over job content, proofing color based on the customer’s specifications, changing or mixing ink if necessary to match customer proofs.• Customer service – Approving jobs on press with customer and salesperson present and occasional one-on-one approvals with Berman Printing customers and answering and forwarding outside phone calls from customers and vendors.• Other pressroom responsibilities – Shipping and receiving with outside vendors, using a variety of electrical forklifts and manual lift trucks, signing and documenting bills of lading, cutting paper, driving to pick up paper from outside vendors and general upkeep of press and work area.

I helped make the pressroom more efficient by lowering make-ready and run times and also reducing overall spoilage in the press department. I was also instrumental in implementing a TQM Employee Rewards Program between management and labor teams.
