Deputy Sheriff - Crime Prevention & Community Awareness Unit
CurrentI've currently returned as a deputy in the Crime Prevention & Community Awareness Unit. I hold a State Certification as a Crime Prevention Practitioner & Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Practitioner (CPTED).I served in the Crime Prevention Unit from November 2013- March 2019 and returned to the position in February 2021 after 2 years as an agency Public Information Officer (PIO).Our unit provides the community with presentations and information on such topics as:*Avoiding Scams and Identity Theft*Internet and Social Media Safety*Personal Safety and Awareness*Surviving an Active Shooter * Neighborhood WatchIn addition, I oversee the agency's data base and training for our 'Safety Net' tracking program, which allows deputies to located at risk citizens who can become lost due to memory issues or autism.
