Video Conferencing AdministratorSchedule and connect daily video conferences for the Department of Energy’s Environmental Management program office utilizing Polycom VTC equipment. One of two technicians performing hardware and software support for approximately 350 local users and 100 remote users. Troubleshoot a Novell Network housed on Windows NT Servers with Windows NT, 2000 and XP clients. Reallocate machines to employees using Drive Image Pro images, or by installation of each piece of software. Configure new laptops and desktops (mostly Dell products) with the SMSC Standard software and create new images. Install new hardware such as DVD-ROMs, Iomega drives, wireless LAN cards, Palms and Handhelds. Assist in Network Upgrades of switches, routers, cabling and patch panels. Trace LAN connections for possible punch-down or hub problems and setup network printers. Support home and traveling users with AT&T Global Dialer, VPN application, and Lotus Notes direct dial-up. Assist in the setup of video-conferencing and NetMeeting for meetings between headquarters and field offices (in the U.S. and overseas). Create and maintain documentation on common problems and fixes and helpdesk policies and procedures. Take over the Call Report allocation tasks of the IS Supervisor in his absence.

Third Level Computer and Network Support Technician for approximately 700 users including all VP’s, CIO and CEO of Hughes. Tasks included daily PC and LAN troubleshooting, connection and punch down of network and phone drops, setup of voice mail and long distance authorization codes, ghosting machines, PC and laptop hardware and software support, and printers. Application support for Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000, Lotus Notes Client Versions 4 and 5, Internet Explorer, Netscape and Netscape Mail, Reflection, MSOffice, SAP, Visio and other software. Create and maintain documentation on computer and network support procedures, common problems and fixes, helpdesk operations and departmental policies. Other duties include configuration of standard operating systems images, general support of remote buildings and testing new versions of various applications. Became main contact for all building representatives concerning technical and departmental issues in order to allow supervisor to deal solely with management. Took over responsibilities of Helpdesk Supervisor during his absence including the oversight of company executives and executive secretaries and assignment of IT Support “Vantive” tickets to all building representatives and Help Desk personnel.
