My experience at Vanick Group has expanded my skillset by placing me in a team environment for the first time and by allowing me to develop with tools and applications that I have not worked with in the past. I have also gained experience in developing more robust code and working on projects for large companies with higher demands and expectations than I have managed in the past.

As part of my technology research and new business development duties at The Ransom Group, I conceptualized a method for editing and managing websites without the need to know or understand HTML. The owner of The Ransom Group and I formed a new company in order to develop this technology into an online website builder service called Firefly. As the Lead Developer (and only developer,) I was responsible for the development of the Firefly software and its related websites and services as well as handling all IT tasks related to the operation of those websites and services. Additionally, I worked closely with a patent and trademark attorney to draft a 100+ page patent application for the Firefly software. I helped turn this library into an open, online marketplace for creative professionals called BuyCreative. I created the website, back-end management tools and accounting systems for BuyCreative. The website categorized and sold over 5,000 products including fonts, stock photos, textures, 3D models, background music and stock layouts.
