While the role I initially accepted with Charter Schools USA was to continue as an ESE Resource Teacher, due to need, I had the opportunity to serve in a different capacity as a classroom teacher for 3 7th Grade Civics classes and 3 8th Grade US History classes, a total volume of 140 students.Throughout the year, I have:-Taught students both online and in-person simultaneously, using screen projection and Microsoft Teams as well as breakout rooms to do so.-Prepared standards based lessons using platforms such as Chalk, while using data on student performance to make decisions about future instruction-Developed a strong understanding of the content and standards that should be covered for this subject area, and knowledge about recommended platforms for engaging students, both in-person and online.-Used evidence based pedagogical strategies, such as the incorporation of Cornell Notes and AVID Strategies in my lessons to help students retain and organize their thinking.-Served in other capacities for the school throughout the year as needed.

I worked in several roles for the School District of Manatee County since the summer of 2016. I worked for several years (2017-2020) as an ESE Resource Teacher (K-5) for Manatee Elementary School and Tillman Elementary School Within this role, I worked with a number of students with varying exceptionalities in multiple classrooms and grade levels. I used data, and knowledge of Universal Design for Learning and other evidence based practices to provide meaningful and relevant instruction regarding grade level standards, and areas where students are having increased difficulty. In addition, I worked with the PEER software system to ensure that all IEPs of the students are current, have well written goals and information on their present levels, and are within compliance. I fulfilled other duties such as managing student groups during assessment, filling in other academic roles when necessary, and maintaining active communication and positive relationships with students, parents, and other teachers.In my most recent full academic year with the district, I achieved a Highly Effective rating while also managing/writing a high volume of IEPs due to managing caseloads for multiple grade levels and classrooms.

New Image is a dynamic after school program, that provides a safe and productive environment for low income students so that they ultimately achieve more positive social and academic outcomes. My roles here varied, and included assisting students with academic difficulties, serving as an advisor and mentor, and helping to plan events and activities.
