As VP and General Manager of WFAN, Chuck Bortnick was responsible for managing one of the country's most successful radio stations. In that role, he was instrumental in helping the station's clients businesses grow. Regardless of size, WFAN was able to create top line impact for local companies, by developing efficient strategies to maximize their marketing investment.

As the former COO of Westwood One, he presided over the the country's largest radio network, providing content and marketing solutions to over 2,000 stations with total revenue over $500 million. Westwood One had the unique ability to create and sell national, regional and local content and advertising, throughout the U.S. This local strategy was made possible by the sales and operation centers that Metro Networks brought to Westwood One through the acquisition. In addition to helping manage over 2500 employees in over 75 offices, Chuck negotiated numerous deals with media powerhouse brand names, to expand their brands on radio or continue their radio success.

Chuck Bortnick held a number of roles during his tenure at Metro Networks, including Regional Vice President, Executive Vice President, President and ultimately President & COO from 1999-2002. During this time, Chuck helped to build Metro Networks from a small one-market company into a highly respected national/local content and marketing partner with $250 million+ revenue in over 70 markets. Along the way, Metro acquired and integrated over a dozen companies into its infrastructure in order to expand its local, regional and national presence. Chuck played a key role with the team that took Metro public before it was acquired by Westwood One three years later.
